Airline Tycoon Evolution is a an economy simulation in comic style, where the player manages an airline company competing with 3 others in the same airport. It's the third game in the Airline Tycoon series, following Airline Tycoon First Class. However, it's rather a stand-alone expansion than a new version: it basically features the same gameplay and missions as the previous version, with the addition of 10 new missions, a custom aircraft making company, a security room and 5 new sabotages[3].

Cheat codes
All the cheats from Airline Tycoon First Class work in Airline Tycoon Evolution too. Additionally, the following cheats have been added:
- megarichman: gives your company $1,000,000,000
HiTech Design Corp - get better parts
The HiTech Design Corporation lets you build custom planes, by assembling 5 parts (around 4 to 6 different options are available for each part). The most interesting thing with this feature is that you can edit the part properties, by editing the file Data/builds.csv (this file can be edited with any basic text editor, like notepad or Notepad++, but also with Microsoft Excel if you want an easier layout).
The format for a line in this file is:
Id;ShortName;Cost;Weight;Power;Noise;Reliability;Passengers;Consumption
- Id shouldn't be changed
- ShortName shouldn't be changed
- Cost is the cost of the part, in dollars. You may edit it.
- Weight is the weight of the part, in tons. You may edit it. A lower weight means higher speed.
- Power is the power generated (positive value) or leeched (negative value) by the part. You may edit it. A highest power means fastest speed.
- Noise is the noise generated by the part. You may edit it. A negative value means a noise reduction, a positive value means a noise creation.
- Reliability is the reliability of the part. You may edit it. However, be careful, quite unexpectedly, a lower value (including negative values) is better.
- Passengers the amount of passengers the plane can carry. You may edit it. Note also that 10 passengers are equivalent to 1 ton of cargo.
- Consumption the fuel consumption related to the part. You may edit it. Note that some parts have a negative consumption, it's because their aerodynamics lowers consumption.
Here is a sample modified builds.csv file with one or two of each kind of part modified to be very cheap, silent, safe and very low fuel-consuming:

Quick guide
- See also Airline Tycoon First Class#Quick guide (the tips mentioned there work in Evolution too).
Security office
The entrance to the security room is hidden. It's on the second floor, hidden in a window to the airport tracks, to the left of the boss office. You can also use the shortcut key (Y).
Glowing coal
When an office is destroyed by a bomb, click it to pick up glowing coal. You can use this glowing coal to erase the board with offers from travel agencies. The day after, it will become normal coal, which can be discarded (right-click it).
Goodwill
In the "Fuel shortage" mission, you need to increase your "goodwill". This is achieved by filling your tank when the kerosene price is low, and using the kerosene from your tank to fuel the planes when the kerosene price is high (the idea is: be "nice" by not buying fuel when there is a shortage, i.e. when it's expensive). You may want to buy a (much) larger tank or to create some low-consumption planes (with the plane building cheat).
